Badge groups
Tracks that turn a wall of badges into progress — your own and the ROK catalog's, with how many members have finished each one.
A badge group is a track: an ordered set of badges that means something together, such as "First 90 Days" or "Swiftwater". Members see each track on their badge wall as progress ("3 of 5"); a badge can require finishing a track (a capstone, set in the badge designer); and a rung of the level ladder can require one. Open the page from Recognition → Groups.
A group is never awarded itself — the badges inside it are. It is also separate from a badge's category: the category says what kind of badge it is, the group says which set it belongs to.
| Action | Needs |
|---|---|
| See this page | Manage badges or Award badges |
| New group, Edit, Add our badges, Activate / Deactivate, delete | Manage badges |
The buttons, and the links on group names, appear only for people who hold Manage badges; the database refuses group changes from anyone else.
Search and New group
Search groups… filters by name and description. New group opens a blank group editor.
The group cards
Your agency's groups and the active ROK catalog groups, in one list ordered by each group's Order number and then by name. Each card shows:
- the group's artwork and name;
- a chip counting the badges in the track for your agency, plus ROK catalog on catalog groups and Inactive on groups you have switched off;
- the description, and up to eight badge thumbnails in track order (with "+N" for the rest);
- a progress bar and "N completed · N in progress".
Which badges count
A track's badges are the ones ROK placed in it (for a catalog group) plus any your agency added, minus the badges you cannot award: inactive badges, and catalog badges you have not switched on. Switching a catalog badge off on the Badges page therefore removes it from every track's count — which is also how you trim a catalog track you only half want.
What the completion counts mean
The counts cover your active members and the badges they hold right now; a lapsed or revoked badge does not count.
- Completed — holds every badge in the track.
- In progress — holds at least one, but not all.
The bar shows completions as a share of everyone who has started. Counts appear only on active groups that contain at least one badge.
Editing, deactivating and deleting
- Edit on your own group, or Add our badges on a catalog group, opens the group editor. On a catalog group you can only add and order your own badges; its name, artwork and ROK's badges belong to the catalog.
- Deactivate (your own groups only) takes effect at once and fades the card. An inactive group disappears from members' badge walls and from the completion counts, but a capstone step or a level requirement that names it is evaluated exactly as before. Activate reverses it.
- Delete (the bin icon, your own groups only) asks you to confirm: the badges in the group are not deleted — only the grouping — and any level that requires the group loses that requirement.
ROK catalog groups cannot be deactivated or deleted from here.
With no groups the page reads No groups yet., with a reminder of what a track is for; with a search that matches nothing it reads No groups match that search.
