ROKRescue Operator Knowledge

Effective 19 October 2026

Operational Disclaimer

ROK is a reference aid. What that means for you when you rely on it in the field.

Draft under legal review. This document is published so that it can be read and relied on from today, but its wording has not yet been finalised by our legal advisers and may change. Bracketed text marks details still being confirmed.

This disclaimer is part of the Terms of Service. The ROK mobile app shows it the first time you sign in on a phone, and again whenever it changes. You accept it before you can open your library. It is always available from Settings → Legal in the app and at the foot of every procedure.

A reference aid

ROK is a reference aid. It does not replace your training, your qualifications, your professional judgment, or the procedures, protocols and orders of your agency and the incident you are working.

Check that it applies

Content in ROK is written and approved by your agency or by its authors. It may be out of date, incomplete, or not suited to the situation in front of you. Check each procedure’s last-reviewed date, and confirm it applies before you act on it.

Copies on your device

Copies on this device can be older than the latest version until the app syncs. In an emergency, follow the direction of your incident controller or supervisor first.

The app syncs when it opens, when signal returns and every 15 minutes while it is open, and shows when it last synced. A build too old to receive updates says so on its home screen.

Your responsibility

You are responsible for how you use what you read here. To the extent the law allows, ROK and its providers are not liable for loss or injury arising from reliance on it.

Nothing in this disclaimer limits rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law or any other law that cannot be excluded by agreement. [ENTITY] remains responsible for the Service as set out in the Terms of Service.
