Access code poster
Print an A4 poster for an access code — your logo, a QR code that fills the code in when scanned, the code itself and three short steps.
The poster is a one-page A4 sheet for a station noticeboard, a training-room wall or a handout at an intake night. Operators scan it with their phone camera and land on the join page with your code already filled in. Open it with Print poster in an active code's Share dialog on Access codes (opens the admin console), or in the Access code created step right after you generate one. Back to access codes returns you to the list.
The page is for people who hold Manage access codes; anyone else who opens its address is sent back to People & access.
What the poster shows
From top to bottom:
| Part | Shows |
|---|---|
| Logo and name | Your agency's logo from Branding (or its wordmark when there is no logo), with the agency's name beneath it. |
| Headline | "Join" your agency's name "on ROK", and one line on what operators get. |
| QR code | The code's join link — www.rokrescue.com/join?code= and the code. Scanning it opens the join page with the code filled in. |
| The code | "No camera? Go to www.rokrescue.com/join and enter" the code, printed large in two groups of five. |
| Three steps | 1 Scan the code or visit the link. 2 Create a free account, or sign in. 3 You're in — with where to get the ROK app for offline use. |
| Footer | The code's label and its limits, when you choose to show them (below). |
The accent colour on the poster (the rule under the name and the step numbers) is your agency's primary colour, adjusted for a white page.
The toolbar
- Show label appears when the code has a label. On by default; switch it off when the label is an internal note you would rather not pin to a wall.
- Show expiry and use limit appears when the code has an expiry date or a use limit. On, the footer says "Code valid until" the date and "Up to" the limit "people can join with it".
- Print poster opens your browser's print dialog. It is greyed out until the QR code has been drawn.
Only the poster prints: the console's sidebar, header, the People & access tabs and this toolbar never appear on paper. For the best result keep the scale at 100% and turn off the browser's own headers and footers. Choose Save as PDF in the print dialog to send the poster to someone else to print — the file is named "Join" plus your agency's name "on ROK".
When there is no poster
- A code that no longer works — revoked, expired or used up — gets no poster: the page says the poster "would turn everyone away" and to generate a new code instead.
- "This access code does not exist in the agency you are working in." The poster always carries the agency you are working in, so a code from another agency (for example a link kept from before you switched agency) is refused rather than printed under the wrong name.
- "The QR code could not be drawn in this browser" — the poster still shows the code and the short link, which work on their own. Try another browser to get the QR code back.
What happens when someone scans it
The QR code opens www.rokrescue.com/join with the code filled in. Someone signed out is asked to create an account or sign in first, and comes straight back to the join page with the code still there. Someone already signed in sees the code ready and only has to select Join agency — the page never joins them by itself. See signed in without an agency for the messages they can get, including when every seat on your plan is taken.
